Juicing 101

One of the easiest and most delicious methods to get the required amount of nutrients into our systems to achieve vibrant health is to drink them. There are many new power juicers out there and they’re being advertised by celebrities and personal trainers alike on why their approach to juicing fruits and veggies is the best method for perfect health. Juicing is one of the best ways to take the equivalent of a huge salad and turn it into one concentrated nutrient packed beverage. With juicing we’re concentrating the nutrients of our healthiest foods. Juicing can be used to harness the therapeutic benefits of foods to address specific ailments and to nourish specific organs. For example watermelon, apple, parsley and lemons are all excellent foods for our kidneys. By juicing these foods we are able to take a large amount of healing foods, remove the fiber and give ourselves a restorative and nurturing kidney cleanse.

Which Juicer should I buy?
There are many juicers out there. Almost every kitchen appliance company that makes microwaves or spatulas also has their version of a juicer. They range from $20 to $500.00.

My favorite Juice Recipes


ORANGE CARROT GINGER
2 med sized carrots
4 oranges
1 thumb size piece of ginger

THE GREEN HORNET
1 celery stalk
1 large handful of spinach
2 apples
½ cucumber
1 wedge of lime or lemon

THE CARROT CUPCAKE
2 carrots
3-4 oranges
1 thumb size piece of ginger
1 swirl of honey
Cinnamon to taste

TROPICAL SUNRISE
4-6 oranges
1 banana
½ mango
1 TBL ground coconut


THE SUNNY CITRUS IMMUNITY BOOSTER
1 grapefruit
3 oranges
½ Lemon

THE RED VELVET
½ beet
2 apples
2 med carrots
1 thumb size piece ginger

CHAI PEAR
2 apples
1 pear
1 Thumb size piece ginger
A swirl of raw honey
Cinnamon to taste

Juicing for Health

THE POWER CLEANSER
4 med carrots
1 large beet
¼ cucumber
2 large kale leaves
10 sprigs of parsley

THE LIVER AND GALLBLADDER
6 apples
1 piece of ginger
¼ lemon

BLOOD PURIFIER
4 med carrots
1 large beet
1 piece of ginger

IMMUNE BOOSTER
3 oranges
½ lemon
A swirl of raw honey
1 piece of ginger
1 shot of wheat grass

CLEAR SKIN
1/2 Apple
1 stalk celery
2 med carrots
1 Cup Spinach
1 Cup broccoli
Also berries such as black berries, raspberries, strawberries and blueberries are excellent for skin!

DIABETES
Equal parts Brussel Sprouts and Green Beans

RHEUMATOID ARTHRITUS
3 Kiwis
3 C black berries



JOINT PAIN
½ Cucumber
½ apple
2 med size carrots
1 C spinach
2 large kale leaves
